Impact of the Factories of the Future PPP http://localhost/index.php/events/details/7 http://localhost/index.php/events/details/7 Venue: European Commission/ Brussels /
Category: Meeting
Date: 11.03.2013 - 12.03.2013
Time:
Description:

In March 2013, the European       Commission, with the support of the European Factories of the Future Research Association (EFFRA), organised the 3rd Workshop on the Impact of the FoF PPP. All FoF projects funded in the first 3 calls (2010-2012) were invited to a 2-day event to assess the impact of the PPP initiative and to strengthen the cooperation links within the community.

The objectives of the Workshop were to address innovation and exploitation issues in running projects and explore potential for cross-project clustering. To this aim, projects were grouped in small clusters and asked to discuss common technical and non-technical issues and possible synergies. Joint presentations were then delivered in three parallel sessions. The second day, in a plenary session, participants could listen to a number of success stories and to EC and private sector representatives talking about their views on the Factories of the Future PPP.

The NILindustrialday

This time the NILindustrialday is hosted by PROFCATOR, the coordinator of the NILaustria project cluster. The international symposium will start on Thursday, 14 March after lunch-time. The lectures will finish on Friday, 15 March after lunch. The scientific part will be followed by networking activities (at Friday afternoon sight-seeing in Salzburg and at Saturday, March 16 skiing in the mountains near Salzburg).

The program will provide ample opportunities to share ideas and discuss technical and process details related to Nanoimprint Lithography. internationally recognized experts will discuss high-lights and trends complemented by oral and poster presentations of the latest R&D results. The dialogue between R&D and industrial people will be stimulated through a small industrial exhibition.

The agenda covers all relevant facts, ranging from materials for Nanoimprint Lithography, NIL equipment, all major imprint processes to business-relevant applications: NIL is leaving academics and becoming commercially relevant in many business areas. We are presenting both, the state of research and possible commercial use of NIL in optics, life sciences and anti-counterfeiting.

4M Conference

Microsystems-based products are a key value-adding element for many sectors of industry - and the predicted nanotechnology future will also be largely delivered by microtechnologies. While the late 20th century saw a silicon-based microelectronics revolution, the 21st century looks forward to the adoption of micro- and nano-manufacturing technologies as the demand for function and length scale integrations increases continuously on the way to bridging the gap between the nano- and the macro-worlds

This series of conferences on multi-material micro-manufacture is organised by the 4M Association. 4M2013 was the tenth in the series.

At the conference a SMARTLAM presentation was given by Steffen Scholz.
